KTP 2014 - my favourites*

at Nossob we had to share our chalet with this little grasshopper



At the end of the day



we started the first braai

and while my SO was busy



I took a walk to look for owls. I did not find any but there were some crimson-breasted shrikes



and another first – Southern pied babbler

Finally we relaxed in front of the fire – it was soooo good to be back



we were entertained by this little fellow, who refused to show his front - Woolly Chafer (Sparrmannia flava)



until he fell off the stoep



while this one stayed on the wall ( I think it is an antlion – but which one?)

the morning drive took us to Marie se draai where we found the mega nursery. There were only 4 lionesses and we only can be sure of seeing 8 cubs.

The cubs were playing hide and seek

but what now – how do I get down from here?

when we returned there were hartebeests at Nossob waterhole

No jackals or sandgrouses at Cubitje Quap

[Tina]

on the way to Kwang we saw Bedi and her cubs feeding on a springbok

there were no lions at Kwang



we found another one for Lis



close to Lijersdraai we saw a flying ostrich

at the picnic site I was looking into a tree in hope to see some birds but I encountered this
