Here are photos of an elephant called Tim ( sometimes "Gentle Tim" )

I suspect he died a few years ago.

The photos are off internet with un-clear/no info about photographers or organizations publishing them on internet.

I have found a number of photos of giant elephant tusks ( mostly hunting trophies ) - I will publishing them here as a token of appreciation to the elephants roaming the unprotected African bush normally not visited by tourists.

One request though - let us not turn this topic into a anti-hunting debate, I simply want to share the giant tuskers of yesterday to give a little insight into the elephant populations of the past.

Here is a photo of a hunter named Jerome Phillipe ( Photo appears to have been published in the Africa Hunting magazine ) with a statement on internet that the hunting took place in the Congo - no further detail.

Tim was in the media last year, might be still around (Amboseli)

He was born in 1969 :-)
