Day 2 Jan 4th continued
After our break we carried on our way and found more little ones :
Some little piggies

a little ellie

Nice to see some little of these
Leaving the tar we found our first little Tortoise
and then our first ellie encounter . Now I was raised with ellies my father having an absolute love for them .From a very young age
we spent weeks in Bots before there were all the facilites that exsist now looking for the biggest herds and tuskers .Some how word
got arround that we were in the park and they decided to remind us who has right of way .Or mabye its just my old landy is very
noisy or I smell funny ....
this fellow grazing peacefully
as soon as we get close he dicides its time for game ...
His alert face
See could be the funny smell ...
Or maybe I just got somethingg in my eye
Oh ok see your reverse gear is in good working order I will go back to eating .
We found the lookout alert and waiting for movement
After finding the Tar again we turned back towards Afsaal at the watering hole we found this little ellie enjoying some cool mud
and turning to look across the road there was a individual Lion crunching away on a Tortoise
By this time te ellie herd had crossed the road behind us and were drinking some nice clean water from the resrvoir
Carrying on our way back to camp after a disapointing stop at Afsaal we found this fellow seeking some shade from the sun
and then we chanced upon a melee on a bridge .What could it be ? Cars jostled for position and it took us a good 10 minutes to even
get onto the start of the bridge .Way off in the distance a kitty slept in the tree .Now I enjoy a cat as much as the next person
but it amazes me how they cause such traffic problems and I must give credit to whoever spotted the cat as I certainly would not
have looked that far into the trees .. If anyone is in doubt I dont enjoy queueing for anything in KNP and have done many a U turn
at many such events and gone round the nearest loop...
That night at camp was full moon .I prayed for the rangers on patrol had success in their protection.

The Grey and brown spotted beasties patrolled the fence
