Skinned Impala found in Kruger (not for sensitive viewers)

Post by Flutterby »

Yesterday this pic was posted on Latest Sightings FB page:

Lesego Nko made this statement on the SANParks FB page today:
Dear All;
This is in regards to the picture that was posted on Latest Sightings of a "Skinned Impala seen on the H1-3 on the 31st of January."
The existing theory is that the impala might have been hit by a speeding vehicle and dragged for a distance. When that happens, the skin comes off .
Investigations are underway but since we don’t have a witness, it will take time.

In my opinion, there is no ways this impala was dragged behind a vehicle. This impala was killed and skinned by someone who knows what they are doing! :evil:

No ways this was hit and dragged so the skin came off. You can see the trail where it was dragged from the bush. O/ O/ O/ 0- 0- 0-

There is no way that anything other than (an experienced) person skinned that

Although it seems a little odd to dump it in the middle of a road :-?

It is either roadkill or dragged from the bush, probably the former. Either way, the culprits were surprised, so probably at night.

This is the way we are headed, and what a ridiculous SP response! 0*\ @#$ O/

I agree - to me it looks like it was an animal skinned by poachers in the bush with the possible intention to collect at an opportune time – possibly hidden in a tree or bush not too far from the road – which was found by some predator and dragged onto the road before being disturbed by a passing car O**

The animal was skinned by a poacher he dropped it or leave it in the veld .Definitely he was/is a amateur because poachers that is long in the game take the carcass away and skinned it at a safe place .like home. We can assumed that he travel by car , near the road.If that was not the case then we got serious problems as only personel in the park could walk in the veld kill and skin a animal.
The red light is that somebody has the "confidence" to do something like this without fear that he could be caught.
