Africa Wild

On Sunday 8 February I visited the President Ridge Bird Sanctuary. This is situated in the middle of Randburg behind the Brightwater Commons Shopping Mall.

It's a beautiful place and looks well maintained. I bumped into one of the committee members who was opening the hide and she told me that Johannesburg Parks Department were giving them the use of two workers to tidy the place up.

Unfortunately, most things were too far away for pictures but I did get a few.

I love the Sacred Ibis in flight, a wonderful bird

What a stress to raise eight goslings

Yet another new birding place in Gauteng.

Nice sightings, particularly the bittern. Great shot of the egret, too.
