I don't really have an issue with malaria. I take the tablets, and other precautions (insect spray etc).
But with kids under 5 my Mrs and I agreed that we were happy to take a chance. Now that my youngest will be 5 in December, we are going to Kruger

I do not recall the waterhole - but will look for it the next time when in Pilansberg.
I am always amazed by peeps standing right in front of an Ellie... alottaguts...
Amoli,
If you turn onto Tau from Tshwene, you go up the hilly bit first and then it flattens onto the grassland bit at the top. As you get to the top of the hilly bit, on the right hand side, there is a sand track, about 100 meters down there is the dam.

We also only used to take our son to Pilanesberg when he was small, but his first trip to Kruger was amazing and he is now an addict!!

Never going to outlast a hungry child....Tell that to my Mrs. I used to tease her and call her Gina sometimes. Not sure if you are familiar with tha baby guru, Gina Ford, who has written all the books, mainly concentrating on being strict and having a routine. Mrs D followed that quite strictly. Gotto say that it did work. By 4 months, both my kids were sleeping through the night. While friends of our where totally shatered 2 years later because they were up all hours of the night with their kids as they had no routine. But I digress
My son (7) is a total wildlife addict. My daughter not so much. She likes seeing the animals but gets bored quickly. But since my son was little, he could spend hours with me in the car. The last few trips he was awake before me sometimes in the mornings. I suppose it was that trip when he was only a few months that converted him.
He likes Pilanesburg, but has heard a lot about Kruger and is very excited we are going in December.

You are probably right.
