Hi Peter.
I took these pics yesterday when I visited the Park
This is a wide angle of the dam wall on which the Lion was standing.
The dam is situated 400 to 500 meters on your left if you are traveling in an easterly direction from beacon 32 on the Mbotyi Loop.
There was a well used road going to the dam.
There were not any "No Entry" signs.
Poles were later planted in the road preventing one from entering.
This is what it looked like yesterday, some of the poles laying on top of the ground

Bird Sightings
There are over 400 species of birds listed on the official Addo Elephant Park SANParks website.
I will post a few pics of the birds that I have photographed.
I thought to post the Ostrich first because it is the biggest bird
The male has the black plumage while the female has the brown plumage
I photographed this Steppe Buzzard having a feast on flying ants after a shower of rain

Helmeted Guineafowl
As long as I can remember I have always enjoyed watching these birds. They are most active early morning and late afternoons when they are out foraging in flocks and in the evenings making their way to some tall trees to roost for the night.
During the breeding season the cocks are constantly chasing each other
