Re: 6 Dutchies in a toyota avanza
Happy to hear that your night drive paid off
This is not always the case, but serval, African Wild cat, porcupine, side striped hyena, lions and ellies is not at all bad

Re: 6 Dutchies in a toyota avanza
Lions and leopards you can find yourself during the day, but most people struggle to find serval or porcupine or a side-striped jackal.
So, your sightings were phenomenal and even topped with an AWC or two.

So I think it is about time to continue this travel tale ;)
Having been to Rome (Italy) and some places here in the Netherlands it is nice to start this travel tale again.
The next morning we headed to Balule to stay there for 2 days. Sadly the bridge to Olifants was closed and to be honest, that made Balule not the nicest of all camps. It was quite boring even sometimes, because at moments we felt like we were stuck a little. Not going to say all too much about that, because that will come later, first the last night Satara!
The last night at Satara was one to memorize. Not only we saw lots of great things, like lions, porcupine and serval, we also saw a massive herd of buffalo when we headed to the ablutions. So we decided to stay up a little more, but saw nothing more. It was that night somewhere around 3.00am that I was fully awake, out of totally nothing. Something hit my tent and I genuinely thought it was nothing, so I went outside, just to check it all. I checked the tent and it had some holes in it, out of nothing. Looking around I saw nothing, but suddenly heard something again at the other tent (we had 2 tents) and I woke up someone else.
We looked and looked and looked, but nothing was there. We wanted to sleep again, when suddenly we heard lions roaring. Ofcourse we went to look for them - it was almost 3.30am now - but sadly we did not find them.
We had to wake up early next morning so we decided to move to the tent and we fell asleep.
Next morning we headed to Balule - the drive that way was great, but as far as predators go we didn't see any. No problem ofcourse!
The photos will come soon, but I don't have my laptop at home at the moment
