Hello!

I'm a teacher, and am UTTERLY convinced our younger generation of all races are capable of changing the conservation horrors we are leaving them, only just in time!

Conservation Education applies equally to adults, but maybe for another thread?

I'll post some pics and stories here, and others PLEASE feel free to share their thoughts, worldwide! \O

A well endeavored thread RP, keep it up, our only hope!!!!

Children need too see and experience more to life, other than
monetary value!!!!

A school trip of ours last weekend to Sand River bush camp near Skukuza...a magnificent SANParks initiative going for some years now, by no means restricted to kids.

It's all about explaining nature...not big five tourism etc...far more insightful and long-lasting, IMO.

Here is n SP Honorary Ranger, Clive Webber, explaining to the kids about geology...the substrate, literally, that determines which plants grow where. Which is where the cycle of life begins!

Some bush lessons:

And a great end to the first day.....all well-supervised!

At Sondela they also have a program for kids that's called Junior Rangers where kids join the Junior Rangers and they teach them all about nature and what it's all about \O

Great, Harry! ^Q^

Our little group of kids there is more diverse than it even seems! Not necessarily all SA..ironically..and a couple of very naughty ones! lol

Things move on, despite our political dinosaurs calling the shots, or thinking they do. It is simply unstoppable! \O

RP,

do you do this as day visitors? And how is such a project funded? I assume, more often than not parents wouldn't have the money to pay such outings or might not be prepared to do so.

This worked out R2000-odd per person all inclusive for three nights....not too bad!

There are various different education programmes throughout the country and SANParks, some for free! \O
