Spent a few hours in the hide on Saturday night.
Had ele's, rhino, hyena, wildebeest, civet and jackal come for a drink.
Was very cool until some drunk tourists decided to have their nightcaps in the hide.

They scared all living creatures away (me included)
Next morning while waiting for the gate to open we watched a hyena clan chasing some wildebeest around.
I have not stayed at Talamati for a while, and have forgotten how good it is.

Nice sightings, just a pity about the idiots who ruined it for you!

Sorry to hear about that, jb72
Can you fill me in about the set up of the hide, please? Never been to Talamati and I wonder if it's a hide within the camp that you can walk to any time of the day and watch whatever is around in the river(bed)?

The hide is inside the camp, with a view over the waterhole and surrounds. It is floodlit at night. And forgot to mention in my earlier post that we saw sable there too !!!!

Thanks, jb72! Now, I wouldn't mind people having a nightcuppa there, but totally noiseless, if they may

Do you think I was sitting empty handed ???

Don't mind the odd nightcap (or two) myself. But I only make a noise when I sleep...
