Their stay in Washington over, they made for New York, stopping in Baltimore on the way to visit the aquarium. Thankfully they only spent the day there as the Baltimore riots started the next day!
Looks a bit like the Cape Town Waterfront.

The Brat really enjoyed the aquarium and said it was nicer than our Durban and Cape Town ones, but only slightly.

They arrived in New York late that night but were up bright and early the next day eager to see the sights.
Selfie with a skyscraper!

The 9/11 Memorial is located where the Twin Towers once stood and the design is called Reflecting Absence. Two large pools with waterfalls were built in the foundations of the towers, and the names of the victims are inscribed in the ledges around the pools. This is the South Pool.

Then it was on to the American Museum of Natural History. This iron meteorite, which was found in Oregon, is the largest ever found in the United States and the sixth-largest in the world.

Then the Brat got to see some of America's wildlife, albeit long dead!

He couldn't believe the size of these moose!

Alaskan Brown Bear

This is a cross section of a Giant Sequoia or Redwood. It was more than 1300 years old when it was felled by lumberjacks in California in 1891, and it stood more than 300 feet tall.

This is the famous T-Rex from the Night at the Museum movies.
