Have just read a very interesting article on GO magazine on the above.

It says that Fish and Long Crested Eagles can be seen there as well as Black Backed Jackal and other small animals.

There are number of walks and bird hides as well.

Has anyone been there?

Hi Amoli.

Did you have a bad experience?

No, I went at this time of the year.

The road is beautifully winding and there are a few spots that could be idillic - yet I was very uneasy to leave the safety of my vehicle.
Turning off into the fishing area (where I believe the raptors would be) was also very desolated and I decided to not go down.

Maybe I am just paranoia about safety, but the traffic from the gate to the restaurant is plenty and it only costs ?R30 vehicle.

I believe there are blue cranes, yet that is on the other side of the dam.

There was no 'bad' experience. - and maybe I should try again because this is literally 10min drive from my home.
