Kruger is calling......*

18 June - Day 4:

Today I decided to take a route from LS, Skuks, Phabeni gate, Pretorius kop, Skuks and LS and today I started to feel the way one should feel when visiting Kruger I even looked forwrd to having my first braai of the trip











Here at Lake Panic I had to hear that I missed a Leopard by about 10 mins
Lake panic's water level is the lowest that I have ever seen it

So still no Leopard but lots of Lions

And then it happend about 16:00 on my way back to LS......no 1



I was so happy but then about 4 kms on I saw to creatures crossing the road that looked like Lions....no 2 and 3





After that High some more birds and things









So after a incredible day I went to the LS shop, bought some meat and charcole and had a wonderful braai

Next my trip home......

19 June:

Going home today so I decided to go from LS to Croc bridge via S28 and then S25 to Malelane gate



Then at last Cheetahs

Last episode of Kruger is calling......

About 10 kms from Malelane gate I got this great sighting















And then to top it of a BBJ



And that ladies and gentleman was my latest visit to Kruger

Maybe not the best trip ever, but the sightings was great and I at least enjoyed the last 2 days

Our next trip to the North will commence in T- 19 days and counting

Hi there

Alf: Very dry...river on Mahoni loop has flowing water , Klopper fontein has some water , Levubu river has lots of water, but the feld is very dry with no or very little grass.

RP: We went well till Louis Trichard, then I took the wrong road and had to go through Malumulele and some other scary places with roads full of potholes and speed limits of 60 and 80 km/h, but we made it in one piece but not so lucky with the glasses(2 broke) and some of the stuff in the cuberts fell out . The main thing is we made it safe and now we are enjoying the awesome KNP

The young ones are resting now , we will di the Mahoni loop later.

Ps. Nan: we saw Frank, he says hallo, but he was very busy chasing the monkeys that was making a nuisance of them selves

Oh yes we had a great breakfast at Pafuri although I forgot half of the stuff in the caravan

Just a note, Bookworm took about half the photos (she kidnapped my camera most of the time )

Day 1: 1 August:

We left Boksburg at 2:53 and had a good drive to Punda Maria, we arrived at 10:10 and booked in at the gate (ok it was a good drive to Louis Trichard and then I took the wrong road and we eventually got to Punda Maria )

Reception at the gate, they even searched my car and caravan

Then at camp we saw these animals at the hide

We then went to camp reception and booked in, we(or rather I) had the great Idea to walk to reception......BIIIIIIGGGG mistake , have you guys/galls seen that mountain you have to climb to get there , I survived and we set up camp and had a little rest before we left later to drive Mahoni loop

Day 1 continues:

While setting up camp my eye caught something very disturbing on my caravan door.......my licence for the caravan expired on 31 March and I didn't put the new disc in .....after some I decided this little thing won't spoil our trip and we went to the hide and took some more pics





We then decide to do the Mahoni loop...







Next a surprise and a lifer

We drove on the Mahoni loop and then we saw vultures in the trees and something not smelling very well, as we came closer we saw a car parked next to the road and we started looking and then.......LION





After about 20 mins we decided to get moving as it was getting late...





Then our first lifer....a Crested Guineafowl
