Day 2 - 2 August: Crooks Corner

We left for Crooks Corner at 6:20 and planned a breakfast at Pafuri on the way here is some photos there and back

We arrived at Pafuri picnic area and had a breakfast, not the breakfast I planned as I left half the food at the camp ......but we had scrambled eggs, bacon and bread which made a great sandwich

Day 2 continuing....

This Zebra found something very funny

We arrived back at camp and found the water hole full of Elephants......and a Duiker

Next day 3

Day 3 - 3 August:

We decided to go to do the Mahoni loop and then to Klopperfontein and back after just chilling in camp





And then our second lifer of the trip - A Crowned Hornbill

Day 3 - the middle part....

We spend some time in camp again and watched a huge herd of Buffalo coming for a drink















Just outside camp on our way to Klopperfontein we saw these Sandgrouse and chicks



Next the last part of day 3 with some Ellies having a mud bath

Day 3 last part....

We went to Klopperfontein via the gravel road and back on the tar road



















End of day 3, next day moving to Shingwedzi

Day 4 - 4 August....Moving camp to Shingwedzi...

So our time at Punda Maria has come to a end and we are moving to Shingwedzi, we packed up slowly and I took a walk through the camp and took a few pics and then we got moving, first stop Babalala for a Breakfast

Then just outside camp





Babalala..BravoEen(Ivan), Tataruka(Jenine)and Bookworm(Anja), we made our food and also had to defend it against about 100 Hornbills





After our breakfast we left for Shing....here is some more photos











We booked it at around 11:00 and yes our award to Shingwedzi was there for all to see .....we set up camp and rested for a while and then we went on a afternoon drive

After setting up camp and resting a bit we took the road to Kanniedood dam....







While we where sitting relaxing next to the river, this happenned....



Wondering what could be responsible for this happening the Hippos came up from under the water....they where running on the riverbed and that caused the little waves on the top



Then just before camp....a small traffic jam....LIONS...they where on the other side off the riverbank and the light was fading fast so the pics are not that good but it's evidence that we saw Lions again





Then it was back to camp and we build a nice camp fire

Day 5 - 5 August...

We decided to go to Red Rocks and then Mopani and then S50, Capricorn loop and back....



















Very quiet drive up to then, but it keeps a bit quiet for more or less the whole day.....
