On our recent trip to Etosha National Park in Namibia, we saw lots of elephants around the waterholes which gave me a chance to photograph a lot of behaviour.
First up is a youngster coming to it's mother to suckle.

Mealtime over, the little one takes time out to relax a while, staying close alongside it's mother for comfort.
It's then time for some trunk muscle building excercises.
Another youngster is getting a little bored, so practices it's "let's go this way" stance, which fails completely.
"Now what do I do?"
So a game of push and shove ensues between the youngsters.

Lovely photos and great to watch them and observing the order they get into the water.

One afternoon one of the workers house caught fire and before we could smell the whole herd was in alert marching off just after they arrived. Luckily the fire was out quickly before the dry veld around the camp ignited.
Elephants must be very intelligent creatures.
