Day 6: Gannakouriep to Helskloof

On the last day in the park we decided to exit at Helskloof and then drive back to Sendelingsdrift instead of going back on the same route:

Early morning at Gannakouriep:

On the way to Helskloof we were lucky to see this gemsbok. Very skittish and not like the ones in KTP:

Then we passed these gigantic quiver trees , Aloe pillansii, standing tall like huge signs pointing towards the mountains:

How are the quiver trees doing? A few years ago they seemed to be dying slowing or maybe that was only in Augrabies :-?

Beautiful panoramas \O

Note to BJ: Do not start an interesting travel tale while some members are on holiday.

^0^ lol

Just went through all ten pages and browsing through the amazing photos \O showing off a strangely beautiful scenery. :-0
Need to come back at some point and be a bit more diligent... But for now I must see what else I missed out on. And that's a lot. 0*\

Amazing plants, just a pity we saw so many dead trees around Kokerboomkloof. :-(

Now chance for snow to last longer than a few seconds while we stayed there. The photo was taken before sunrise and therefore the colours not the same as during daylight. ;-)
