Heard today the Moz poachers are taking a hammering in Kruger, with some "retiring", as the chances of getting killed are just too big, even for these "heroes"!
As mentioned above, many are used to poach from within SA, but that only uses a finite number, not "rookies" gleaned from Moz villages. So the thing about only being a man once you have been on an expedition to poach has now fallen away, and it is ok, you can still be a man without that!

Rhino poaching has declined by 17,8% in the Kruger Park according to Minister of Environmental Affairs, Edna Molewa. This is a monumental achievement.
Between January and the end of August this year, 458 poached rhino carcasses were found in the KNP, compared with 557 last year. Continue to support SANParks Honorary rangers in their efforts by purchasing Rhino Tears.

" monumental achievement." Seems a bit exaggerated IMO

Especially considering the raise in KZN.

Ja, well done, but a monumental achievement would be a 100% increase in successful sentencings of offenders, for example?

Also carcases at Crocobridge and two at Pretoriuskop last week...seems most is now done from SA, as army has stiffened up a bit along the Moz border too!
