Oh, this is so rarely correct these days, using "were" in "if" clauses/sentences!![]()

I prefer those days when 'Prestigious' meant 'underhand and devious' and 'Decimated' meant 'to reduce by one tenth'. There was no such word as 'Humbleness' and 'Gay' meant 'happy and carefree'!
Don't care much for 'these days'

This TT may be almost as slow as one of RP's. Something changed on the firewall at work and I can no longer access the AW site from there. Sooooo, I have to answer and post to AW from home until further notice.
Monday 30 November 2015 - Balule.
The day started with a spectacular sunrise which we viewed from the north side of the NOW REOPENED (It's a miracle!) Balule Bridge! I think the last time I drove over this bridge was in November 2010!

A Hippo in the golden river.

We went south on the S90/S41/S100 and stopped at Satara for breakfast. Along the way...
Swainson's Spurfowl.

Teree-Teroo, a Sabota Lark.

Steenbok not running away.

Redbacked Shrike.

Zebra.

And our first batch of new arrivals. It seemed to me that the Impies had started dropping a week or two later than usual, in the past few years we have seen our first Impie lambs on November 17.

Blackbreasted Snake Eagle.

At Gudzani Dam, some Fish Eagles.

On the S100, Little Bee-eaters.

More Newbies.

An Elephant with Tusker potential.

At Satara, a Skink and a Brownheaded Parrot.

And on the way back to Balule, a magnificent Kudu bull.

In the middle of the day, some small birds were hopping about in the shade.
Greenbacked Pytilia and Blue Waxbill.

The afternoon drive took us to the Olifants River Bridge on the H-1.
Another Little Bee-eater.

No Kruger trip is complete without a picture of an LBR.

A battered Giraffe.

Another Steenbok that didn't run away.

And a view down the Olifants River.
