Camdeboo list both in their bird list, and I really thought this was an immature Chinspot due to the slight separation between the brown spots and the shape of the male's neck-band (not shown here)?

We did spot Pririts in Karoo NP on the way back.

Also thanks to Fluts, Toko and Lisbeth. These sunbird picks must be among my best bird photos ever in terms of sharpness vs difficulty.

Bird-wise, there was not much going on at the beautiful campsite at the Kango Mountain Resort, apart from the Cape Weavers that is. But the primary reason for visiting the area was to show our daughter the caves as well as both Meiringspoort and the pass. As my grandparents retired in PA, I have fond memories of childhood visits there.

We did see White-necked Raven:


and some flycatchers though.


In the campsite near Prins Albert I took not one single bird photo, although to be fair we spent very little daylight time there, as we did a very entertaining ghost walk in PA, which ended well after dark.

Rich, two things have to happen: First I have to figure out what my wife did with the magazine, and secondly I have to find an A3 scanner...

On the second morning in Stellenbosch I went down to the Strand, primarily to take a time-lapse video of the sun rising, but after the sun had risen I did some bird photography as well.

There was a huge flock of Common Swifts, with a few Swift Terns mixed in.


There were also obviously a number of Gulls around, both Kelp and Hartlaub's.




And at the Stellenbosch airfield, I saw a Jackal buzzard:

And some Common Starlings.
