WAH at Phalaborwa
Firstly, anyone know what a WAH is?
A "Wildlife Attraction" something?
This is scheduled within the boundaries of Kruger along Tshutshe Spruit, apparently, and will include golfing, tag and release fishing and what not...
Waiting for info.

Mr Phillips insisted again recently that this development will be outside the boundary of Kruger!

The plan clearly shows an area of 80 ha set aside inside Kruger.
New Activity Centre for Phala ?
James Daniels of the Business
development Unit of SANParks gave a
presentation at the Bushveld Terrace Hotel
in Phalaborwa on the proposed Wildlife
Activities Hub (WAH) at the Phalaborwa
Gate.
The plan is to build the WAH just inside
the park through the gate on within an 80ha
stretch of land with a proposed R26 million
investment value and will generate up to 70
sustainable jobs.
The close proximity to Phalaborwa was
chosen to eliminate the need for additional
guest and staff housing.
This will also form part of the SANParks
commercialization strategy which is
conducted through partnering with the
private sector.
There was found to be a need to cater to
the guests who are looking to optimize their
visit to the KNP by offering more than the
limited traditional activities in the Park.
The objective of building such a
WAH, extends further than just guest
entertainment, a large focal point is also for
the closely located communities to benefit
from the project.
Some of the proposed activities at the
WAH include cultural shows, a spa, archery,
hot air ballooning and many more.
A follow up general meeting is planned for
March with the MEC, dates to follow

Ridiculous, all of this was denied years ago and why isn’t this on the SPF.

What are they trying to hide from that membership
Those who are members of both forums, please post it there

Most likely not the only "hub" in the pipeline
They are implementing the fun park idea now

It is not clear yet whether the project will include accommodation for tourists...thus if not, it does not conflict with the promise of no more "hotels" in Kruger?
But not sure how 70 permanent jobs will be created for day visitors...

Does not say "accommodation", only "activities"
