Lunch done and dusted - time to head for camp. Our initial plan had been to bomb through to Mata Mata to get there as early as possible, set up camp then go hunting. Needless to say we were far too distracted with sightings and scenery to make this plan of action a realty.
First things first - time to check if lazy bones had decided to move. Nope. Still in the same place - so tried the bleating stunt and he indeed dained to move - but simply onto his back to carry on snoring.
We did have a couple of reasonable sightings - beside lazy bones - including our first kill of the trip
Giving us a quick glance in case we had intentions of pirating his lunch
he/she decided we posed no threat and settled down to enjoy his hard earned catch
The road was long but the beauty of the terrain and the chit chat and laughter in the car certainly made the time pass far too fast.
Hidden against a back drop of sand a lone jackal belegged along - minding his own business - and certainly had no interest in the crazy ladies who had stopped to interrupt him.
We made comparatively good time even though we were stopping to look at rats, Trees, bokkies and other creatures that inhabit the area.
Oh and lets not forget our feathered friends
There was much debate about taking the high road or the low road - the low road got the vote. We were not sorry as it delivered our first sighting of bat eared foxes.
(At this point I will apologize for the quality of some of the photos - but this is a trip report and in some cases bad photos can be relevant to the story.)
I will cut here as I could be loading too many pics for easy loading
