Marmot
I'll have to look up the birds though

I'm generally not good with the Translation bit
And that burrow shot is just another beautiful part of the landscape - even if it is a small one.

Nutcracker, Ring Ouzel and Wheatear are Tannenhäher, Ringdrossel and Steinschmätzer.

The following day was a washout again...

After the washout, we awoke the next morning to see freshly fallen snow above 2000 metres.
The walk we did today began at 1700 metres and ended at 1200 metres. It began in a light drizzle which soon turned to freezing rain and then back to rain again, but the sun came out by the end.
Today's birds included Linnets (Bluthänfling/Linotte mélodieuse), a pair of Bullfinches (Gimpel/Bouvreuil pivoine) and a few Citril Finches (Zitronenzeisig/Venturon montagnard), the latter being a true mountain bird.
Here are some photos from the excursion:
The Loner in the clouds (see the house in the bottom right corner for scale)
Crepis aurea (my wife's photo)
Little Blue on our Wanderbuch

Just imagine how much prettier the scenery would have been in sunshine when the cloudy pix are already that stunning!

While you were away, I was really worried about the weather up there. When it is bad here, immagine there
The scenery is beautiful though. There are so many lovely footpaths in the mountains
