Lis, the scenery doesn't come out as well as it is in real. It's a really beautiful park and the landscape takes your breath away, in my opinion.
The straw will have to wait...

It's still Wednesday 30th March and we have yet to embark on the afternoon drive. Up on Rooiplat we went... On the slip road that was only used by us (and the guys who worked on fixing the electricity...) some kudus had arrived and were munching on the greeneries right next to the road. Alas, most of them hid behind the trees and shrubs before I was ready for a shot. Only this one waited a tad too long



Rooiplat was generally busy, but the animals had moved to the far back, so I didn't really bother taking photos.

This white-nacked raven, however, caught my eye and since he didn't take off, I even managed a halfway decent shot.

We ended up down at Ubejane again and had an interesting sighting of some zebra stallions fighting.

The ever changing light conditions due to some clouds didn't really help the picture quality, but it was still fascinating to watch

Once their fight moved further off, we left them to their own devices

The day also provided the best springbok photo opportunity, but seeing that I get enough of those in the KTP, I'm not too sad that the others kept their distance. There is only so many springbok photos you can have

Seeing that we still had some time at our hands when we had reached Doornhoek Dam again, we decided to give the aardwolves a chance to show themselves off and proceeded to the lower part of the the Kranskop Loop. No aardwolf, but at least the elands had come out to play and were rather close.

The final pix of the day were devoted to the beautifully lit mountains in the setting sun.



I just would have wished for nicer clouds

That evening 8 pm came, but no staff to relief us of the noise. Now, the SO and I are rather patient and tolerant when it comes to dealing with situations like these in SA and we thought that they might have mixed up the hours with our Initial request (5 am to 9 pm). But 9 pm came and still no staff... We actually had to send a text telling them to get their job done. The SO was quite explicit about it...
