13th Skukuza to Lower Sabie continued

We weren’t immediately sure of what was hiding in the bush and the Cow questioningly said “cheetah!” but then there was movement “LEOPARD!”

It was a very small female who checked us out for around a minute and then started to move so I followed along, however not so peacefully though as I was shrieking instructions to watch the leopard and not the road.

Normally little female leopards lack the confidence of the males, so we all got a fright when she suddenly turned and came straight for us, crossed the road, sniffed the front of my car and then strolled down into the riverbed.

The leopard was still slightly visible in the riverbed, but a few cars had started to arrive, including the Sanparks morning drive, so I started stressing about getting parked in and we still had breakfast with RP and GB scheduled, therefore we ducked back down towards Mazithi Dam stopping once for some steenbok pics

The lions had moved the buffalo kill again and a female was still having a chow. Beyond her in the distance we could see more lions cruising around, so we moved on and stopped when a male popped his head up.

To be continued
