Addo does not have facilities to safely process the meat, KNP has.

I am sure that under the bio-economy programmes, the infrastructure will be everywhere soon

But the warthog issues shows that the use of game for sales is a difficult issue and once implemented, the management of species (what is surplus, what is the ratio of predators and herbivores etc) will change for the sake of game sales. Back to the "vermin" approach in the early Kruger decades might be an outcome. Interesting times ahead!

That's exactly what worries me. The request is going to determine the surplus of game, not the other way around

Sure Addo doesnt have meat proceesing at the Park ..They outscource the job ..to Professional outfits who move in with cooler trucks etc and remove hundreds of Warthog annually

This is REALLY something SANParks can do far more cheaply by themselves!

If I recall there used to be an expert culling/game capture team that worked full time and migrated from park to park as required, being assisted by labour/rangers/helicopters/vehicles from the relevant parks for that short time frame!

There is a game capture/impala-braaiing team in Kruger, but I don't know if they are full-time?

The service provider pays for the culled animals per kg and the carcass is then the property of the culling provider and the harvested meat can be sold
