DAY 3 - SUNDAY OCTOBER 9 - THE MISSING HOUR 16:30 TO 17:30.
At first I could not see anything and Melanie was trying to explain to me where - "There next to the green tree on the dam wall"
At last I saw her lying between some green trees and bushes on Twin Dams wall on Thshepe Drive.
Please meet KGODISA.
As she was looking around we pulled onto the side of the road, switched off the engine and watched as we were sure she was going to move.
No other cars except for game viewing truck that came rattling along. We showed them Kgodisa and after a few minutes of photo taking and loud voices they moved on.
A cropped view of her face.
Our patience paid off as a few more minutes of sitting up/lying down she got up and started walking at angle but we anticipated she would cross the road.
She then walked along the side of the road right next to our car. Sorry about her eyes being closed.
Another cropped photo of her face.
She then walked off into the bush. We knew that Manwe Way was about hundred metres ahead and that as she went into the bush at an angle we again anticipated that she would cross Mankwe Way somewhere but where. So we continued along Thsepe trying to keep an eye on her and turned left onto Mankwe Way. We cruised slowly along with either Norman or Melanie catching a glimpse of her but she was still walking parallel with the road and quite far in. We then lost sight of her so decided to stop at a point in the road where we had a good view both behind us and in front of us in case she crossed the road.
After a bit of a wait she eventually popped out and waited to cross Mankwe Way. By now there was one other car behind us, so she was in between us and them.
After posing so nicely for us she crossed the road in that stalk mode.
Finally into the grass and to disappear.
Thank you Kgodisa for putting on such a fantastic show for us.
End of day 3.
