Aardvark to Zebra - Questions and Answers Riette
This is a very informative book on mammals and also covers a few other animals (Ostrich, Crocodile, Leopard Tortoise)
The book provides info on each species in for the form of a question and answer, covering behaviour, diet, breeding etc.
The photos are also excellent.
It's quite expensive - I paid R700 for my copy (in the KNP). But imo it's well worth getting

But firstly since it has been published, it's gone through some sort of peer review
So the info is more reliable than xyz comments on the net.
And also, as discussed in the other thread (on Kruger Birds), it's nice to have a printed book, especially when one is in the bush.

Re: Aardvark to Zebra - Questions and Answers
Looks like an interesting book
I'd not take it away with me but to read up at home... might be a good investment

Don't know tbh.ExFmem wrote:I have a small paperback titled "From Aardvark to Zebra" by Cape Town based author Peter Joyce, copyright 1999 - is this a more recent version? Thanks.
I haven't seen the book you mention.
This book isn't by Joyce, so perhaps not?

It's quite large and heavy.
So next time I come to SA, and Kruger, it wouldn't be worth while to put in the suitcase.
Makes interesting reading on our long winter nights
