snippets from an outing (or two)
so..........
so because i could i went to kruger for a few days at the beginning of the month
seems that there is a new initiative to try and relieve the waste disposal woes of kruger.
spotted this at tshokwane...
very similar to the policy at the picnic sites at mountain zebra.
was pleased to see the state of the bush near ngotso.

Re: snippets from an outing (or two)
i stayed in tamboti tent number 12..
the birding activity in the trees in front of the tents is enough to keep one busy for an entire day
this southern yellow billed hornbill was constantly on the move
carrying nesting material and food to his home in the tree.

Re: snippets from an outing (or two)
in the same tree was a family of yellow-billed oxpeckers
also busy busy busy making sure that the children were fed.

Also love the oxpecker sequence, leachy,
as I know them only from sitting on animals
Love also the hornbill in flight and all the green which could be seen

there was also a very busy crested barbet in the same tree
and a short distance away ...
in the same tree....
was another bird that i cannot identify...
in the tree next door was a pair of violet backed starlings..
and while i was busy with all these birds around me a squirrel popped in for tea...
