At this time of year there are plenty of Steppe Buzzards in the park. They normally migrate away from the area during the winter, but some do seem to be staying year-round. I've heard talk that they may be inter-breeding with Forest Buzzards due to ignoring their migration

Amazingly Gina's 3 cubs were found ALIVE in the park yesterday afternoon. They were lured onto the road with a warthog kill and were all successfully darted and transferred to a boma. After a check up from the vet and a decent meal they appear to be doing quite well given how long it is since their mother died - hopefully they will all make a good recovery, and in about 6 months time they should be released back into the park

That's amazing! I indeed would have never thought they'd survive.

As much as I'm happy that they are being taken care of now, I wonder why Addo is doing it.
Gina wasn't killed because of human interference and hence I'd expect the cubs being left to themselves,
like in: let nature take its course.

I think, lions are important to attract tourists They would never rear a kudu or warthog orphan, I think.
