On my most recent visit we were fortunate enough to see 3 of the 4 tortoise/terrapin family found in the park. Strangely we didn't see the most common - the leopard tortoise
The marsh terrapins are almost always found down by Hapoor...
There were also plenty of angulate tortoise crossing the roads
But most exciting was to see this parrot beaked tortoise - they aren't often seen in the Eastern Cape, and only occasionally in Addo

They generally are Mel, but if you're sat there with the engine off the ones that I've seen in Addo are normally fine. However this chap got a huge fright on hearing the engine fan of another car and bolted around the bushes looking for someone to charge. When he set his sights on us I must admit my heart was pounding
