H.e. - I've actually never used flash during the day, but I wondered if it might have lit up the eyes, but then I suppose the white would have been totally overexposed.
What is Wrong with this Picture?

Flutters, when you use flash during the day it has to be controlled. You need a strong flash to beat the sun, but it only needs to lighten shadow area's and put the twinkle in the eye.
Sometimes it’s not until you don’t see what you want to see, that you truly open your eyes.

Well basically speaking, under normal circumstances,Flutterby wrote:And how do you control it?
sunlight overpowers flash light!! To really simplify it,
you are so proud of your acquired equipment that you
probably will believe you no longer need the sun out
there anymore!!!???
You are basically telling the sun out there that your
pop-up flash will do the trick and hence,...services
no longer required.
No no
we all need to retire at some stage of the day, where
other support comes into play! Cannot rely on the sun
all day!! Hence a flash of bigger wishes in our day!!

Re: What is Wrong with this Picture?
There is a equilibrium between sunlight and flash!!
All depends on the mood swing of the photographer.
This is where creativity comes to play and playing with
light! It's quite simple,..What must your picture portray??
A very difficult subject in wildlife photography!!!
When the sun sets we are left with very little device in
photography not to say that we cannot be creative in
expressing a mood!!! Flash light comes in handy, very
handy as a filler and back-up!!
Artificial lighting has a tendency to remove character and
flattens so to speak the moment!! Black and white photo's
speak for themselves, far more expressing than color and
so much said for the rainbow nation!!
