Ja, okie, tsessebe were a regular feature on these roads up until the 1990's, I think? Not sure why they vanished..

Have also seen a sable bull east of the dam in that view there, and a herd west of the dam, but they have also left the area. :-(

I was lucky to experience the picnic spot almost empty once. But the second time it looked just like in your photos,
so we fled the scene quickly 0*\

It was in school holidays..can't remember, but presumably, if I was there! O-/

If it's so full there is quite a bit of space at the back...the "old" picnic site just on the other side of the road from the lapa. So to guarantee breakfast you must bring your own skottel...normally the gas braais will be used up under the lapa.

The dam is still rather empty...but it is small and can fill up quickly! \O
