Even when not totally crisp, they'll be easier to ID than lying 0:
Hi Mel
Sorry we don't have any other pics of that sighting.t was too far away. However we did see what we think were the same three cheetahs in the next few days. (Waiting for Debbie to sort her photos of those pics)

Okay, will wait and see. Comparing lying ones to a possible match is also easier than just the lying ones lol

Thanks once again for everyone's input \O

A few pics which almost missed the cut.

Going through my photos while I wait for Debbie to finalise her selection of pics for the next few episodes, I noticed a few of my photos which we seemed to have missed in the last episode.

One thing we noticed this trip was that the number of giraffe in the park seems to have risen quite significantly over the last few years.
This guy made for a great silhouette photo

We also had the privilege of spotting and naming a brand new species in the park, a gemble (A cross between a Gemsbok and a sable) O/\ O/\

This young kudu bull was strutting his stuff

And finally an out of focus picture of our lone warthog just near Urikaruus :o0ps:

A person only realize how tall the Giraffe is when they stand on top of a hill.

Hi Lisbeth
you do get them, especially up near Grootkolk in the north but they are fairly scarce, and not often seen on the Auob

Finally we are back on track with the next batch of photos sorted.
Thanks everyone for your patience and comments as always.

Leo’s New Year’s Eve party

After settling into Urikaruus, and having had a bit of a break from the car, we decided to head up to the sleeping lions for our afternoon drive

When we got there they were still under tree, so we decided to wait for a while

Image

One of the brothers seemed to have quite a bad injury on his side with what appeared to be a piece of horn (or flesh ) protruding from his side.
After a while the other lion decided that it was time for another snack

Yummy :O^

We made sure that we parked up wind from the carcass, which by now was starting to smell pretty high

Having eaten his full the lion decided that another nap was in order

We left our last lion sighting for 2016 and took a quick drive down to Kamqua, where we had a brief sighting of a hyena and her cub at the den, but no usable photos.

Back in camp, we had a pleasant evening braai, and after wishing each other an early “Happy New Year” we were in bed and asleep by 9pm

He looks very young, but obviously old enough to pull down a gemsbok \O
