well, I rather thought a lot of us would be very busy as there are a number of rest camps and I am sure they could all use some "Extra Facilities"

Well a wine bar, ice cold soft drinks, soft serve ice creams with all the additions, a coffee shop with fresh muffins and brownies, for starters
Then we could have the fun fairs, rodeos i.e. riding a buffalo, roping a lion, impala on the spit ..0. but first you have to catch it. The possibilities are endless

I do not think we are being completely fair to Sanparks or the operator of theses commercial tents at Pretoriuskop. As BC stated in in opening post I would not be impressed if I was a regular camper at PK and found all the prime spots hogged by this type of operation – however Sanparks response does seem to be that they are considering limiting these activities to specific areas. The operator is not necessarily making exorbitant profits as I assume his rates include a lot more than an empty camping site which he is hiring from Sanparks.
The only difference between this and almost any other safari operator who arranges safaris for guests staying over at Kruger is the fact that he seems to have established a semi-permanent camping site. I have never seen any rule at Kruger preventing me from camping for long periods at a given site.

The other operators are in for a few days at most. The semi permanent nature of this, coupled with the fact of prime sites being taken and this is almost a camp within a camp. It will set a precedent and just now all campsites will be full of these operations. The comment of we are considering making space for these types of group camps also is a concern for me as it although possibly being inside a camp, it means extra accomodation is then allocated to camps which will mean extra traffic on roads as these numbers are also not included in gate quota's.
