Thanks very much nan. The missing ears had me fooled.
Lisbeth wrote:Without the ears, it is difficult to see if it is a steenbok lol By exclusion it should be one \O

You both look very well .... also the young ones of course ;-)
Thank you for the lovely compliment Lisbeth.

I thought his eyes also looked a bit unusual.

TUESDAY 10 OCTOBER 2017 PART 4/4.

After lunch and our afternoon siesta we headed out.

Not far from Manyane we saw a bundle of cars parked at the junction of Nkwe and Nkakane so went up there to see what was going on.

There were about 7 lion lying all scattered around so a group photo was impossible. The light was fading fast so we had to take whatever pics we could.

This young male seemed to have a sore near his eye.

Apologies for all the clutter in the photo but the terrain was not condusive to good photography.

Suddenly as if a signal was given they all got up, walked among the cars and went off up the road.

Our final photo for the day was of this hippo out the water starting his evening meal.

END OF DAY 5.

I always think the Pilanesberg lions are much paler than their Kruger cousins. -O-

They sure look pale, but I thought that it might be the light or the camera settings -O-
