I have no idea how long the various stretches are, but in any case it sounds rather expensive for SA

Do they increase the salaries too? In any case the inflation will increase and that is not good for the economy

Salaries increase according to inflation, at least in the Government sector. But Government has stolen most of the money by now, so problems ahead...

Machado R88 at today's exchange rate is £5.18
We don't have that many tolls in the UK, but the few that there are in the region of £5.50 to £6, or there abouts.
So more or less in line with world prices?

Distance from Pretoria to Komatipoort about 420 kilometres - total toll over distance R326.00 , i.e. a little less than 80 cents per kilometre --- extremely affordable provided you are on government payroll
And if we go to Cape Town from Worcester , then we pay R38.50 for the Hugenot tunnel ( distance 3.9 kilometres ) -- the alternate ( original ) route over the mountain , is 15 kilometers , therefore the tunnel saves you 11 kilometres .

We don't get paid in pounds, Dzombs, and we are also amongst the most overtaxed people in the world.
