Hi,
I have never seen a YB Oxpecker.
Is on my list for my Kruger trip this November.
I know they are seen fairly regularly in the North.
But what about the South/Central regions.
What is the best areas to look for them?
Thanks
Oxpeckers

The most southerly area I have seen them is north of Olifants.

The furthest north we are staying is Satara.Flutterby wrote:The most southerly area I have seen them is north of Olifants.
Will probably do a day trip up to Olifants, but most likely not further north than that.

I think you will struggle to find them around Satara.

Hi Dzombo,
They have been recorded in the Satara area, but not a common bird there. I have seen them once on the S36 when we were heading South to Talamati, but all my other sightings have been North of Olifants. They do turn up, so keep an eye out for them. You may strike lucky.

Ja, Dzombo! Saw quite a few at Talamati last year this time. They can be found in the whole Central area, I think. Sighting near Croc Bridge even, must look for the link!

Seems they are becoming more common in the central areas.Dewi wrote:Hi Dzombo,

Did you ever find your Yellow-billed Oxpeckers, Dzombo?
These were on the H7 between Tamboti and Nsemani Dam in Sept 2016
