I heard lots of complaints about the lack of maintenance to the camps in Kruger while I was there ..Long Grass, unkempt flower Beds , No regular Electricity supply so people have to now bring solar panels , Un paved roads in camps , No Filling stations at some camps , No shops at some camps , No restaurants at some camps ..Unpruned untidy trees and no leaves raked up ..This pic shows the degeneration and unmowed lawns ..Ah I forgot this is Tsendze ..The way all Kruger camps should be in my opinion

After finding the pride for 3 mornings in a row (2 on the dam wall and the 3rd day below the dam wall on the near empty dam floor) I didnt go back for 3 days and when I did I arrived at sunrise as usual and drove onto the wall ...Nothing !! Sadly drove in the mist to the end and turned around at the end Cul de sac and drove onto the wall at the far end to leave via the way I came when I noticed 2 shadows in the mist at the far end in the mist slowly approaching ..It had to be the pride !! I stopped and switched off and turned as much sideways as I could as the 2 lions slowly covered the 300 or so metres getting clearer all the time ..then I noticed 3 more behind them ..bit of a gap ..but thats all that were there out of the 13 the last time ..They came right up to me and flopped down totally at ease now with my white Bakkie ..however I was totally blocked in by lion ..So I filled another card taking pics of them in front of me as the mist slowly started to rise . I left them alone for a week and on the day we had set aside to pack up in Tsendze to leave the next day I went to see if they were still in the area (Spoor hunting etc for signs ) I arrived ..Even the doves were missing!!! Then I saw her approach from afar ..I didnt recognise her ..but she obliged by having a drink right in front of me in dappled no shadow sunrise light before leaving the way she came (PLEASE Click on the images to get the true colours especially the drinker )

So thats was 5 trips to the dam early in the morning and lions everytime ..Thank you Grootvlei what a super destination and to the closed Shingwedzi camp (Music in the bush or something and the camp was filled with Sleepy music lovers who slept in after nights of jolling so no cars from that side and there was enough to amuse the Mopani, Tsendze Letaba crowds on th South end of the trip to Grootvlei to keep them from spoiling my party)
