July 2018 Kruger trip

This july our travels took us to Satara for 2 nights and 2 nights at lower sabie. Trip would be characterized by lots of lion sightings. The one mayor worry for me was we didn't see one single rhino, I hope this isn't signs but we virtually always see them.

We started our trip with a night spend at the endangered species centre in hoedspruit. Very nice stay, accommodation is superior to kruger accommodation. Recommended if anyone is looking for a place to stay before entering knp at orpen.

Day two. We did a day trip with Private Kruger Safari's. Had a fantastic day.

First part of the day we went up to Olifants via the ngotso road. Managed to see the ngotso pride. On the way we saw a massive gathering of jackals and hyenas, must have been 20+ back backed jackals. Most I have ever seen at once.

Day 3.
Trip down the S100 on route to lower sabie.

Had some nice young lions on the S100. Owl right in front of the chalet.

Morning drive on S28 to croc bridge, unfortunately no luck finding any of the cheetah. Going back to LS found two lion sightings. Afternoon drive on main road to skukuza, found a great lion sighting.

Afternoon lions had a attempt at some impala but failed.

Final day. Exit at Croc bridge , very quite drive. Seems we were either too early or too late for everything on the way out .

Great trip stefan!! \O You had some lovely lion sightings.

That poor giraffe! :-(

20+ jackals!! That must be a record!! ^Q^ ^Q^

Just a note for future reference...due to the number of photos on one page they take very long to open...rather post fewer and then post the next lot on another page after people have commented. \O

What a lot of sightings, stefan! ^Q^

I love the baby crocodile in the grass!

And I wonder what eagle that is there on page 231? :-0

Looks like a very successful trip indeed.

Ja, we were also in for 2 trips in July and saw not a single rhino... O-/
