One morning I got into my bakkie 15 mins before Sunrise at Rooiputs to ease down the hill to the waterhole as we had a concert down there the whole night ..I need not have worried because 100 metres from my tent there were all the performers 8 of them coming straight for me 50 metres ahead and making a straight line for our campsite and Jane was oblivious ..So I turned around immediately and told her to stay in the tent and took this pic from my Bakkie now parked at my tent ..This young one was very naughty ..Loved stealing stuff from other campsites left outside by first timers ..The Pic needs a LOVING click to get the colours to show

So if there's no staff living there do they check on the guests if they are still ok if one stays there for that long?
Otherwise the lions can feed on you and if no other guests stay there nobody will know

Humans don't provide much of a meal so normally there is nothing left, Alpheus. But staff come in the mornings and remove the remains of tourists if there are any.

..No they come in to the entrance (Botswana Cleaners in a Bakkie once every 4 days or so ) and empty the 45 Gallon Drums at the entrance to Rooiputs ..Otherwise nobody comes ..If you have a problem you go to your neighbour or drive 35 kms south to Two Rivers and ask/report whatever ..but the diehards who camp there are not the moaning sort and if the long drop is dirty on arrival ..you clean it with the long bristle brush on a Broomstick hanging up at the Long Drop..nobody has been eaten yet as everyone going there has their senses on a higher level ..Its far mor dangerous camping at say Satara or Mata Mata etc on SANParks camps with their fences that leak dangerous animals and everyone inside has this false sense of security
