Our visit in September/October this year was one of our best, so let's get the show started:

The first family we encountered were the adorable squirrels at Twee Riv.:

Our first game drive had us filled with the anticipation that comes from having been so far away from the place on Earth we love the most - the Kalahari…

(A brief recap: We voted in a poll on the names suggested by AW Forum members, all having to start with a "C", as their mom's name is Corinne. The winners were Carina and Cora for the females, and Casper and Chase for the males. Matthew has the license for the names, and they are now in his Cheetah Project Identification Guide.)

Will certainly update this thread after I finish my TT.

We saw Corinne and family on 9 different occasions, and they brought us much joy and many smiles :-0 , but also our most heart wrenching moments of any trip thus far :-( .

RP - yes, it was a rewarding trip in that the animals were engaged in various activities rather than just staring back at you. I also love the barking geckos, but they only have 2 poses (at least for me in all these years) - looking out or barking, which in a still photo just looks like a big 'ol cartoonish grin, but so endearing :-0

Flutts and Pumbaa - thanks for the lovely comments 0/0 0/0

Sis - I, too, love the squirrels, and thought of you each time I encountered them. They are a constant source of smiles as they go about their daily activities. More to come....

Before couples get to the family stage, there are other first steps to be taken.

Although we chuckled watching him "strut his stuff", it also occurred to both of us that we humans (men AND women), especially in our youth, also puff out our chests O** O** (ahem) to attract the opposite sex. 0*\
