Wonderful sightings Pumbaa
I'm particularly impressed with the variety of birds you manage to spot

Egyptian goslings were plentiful, also for me

The dabchicks are very pretty ducks. I have only seen them here

The weavers are really amazing birds. We get so accustomed to their building nests, that we almost don't notice them anymore

The yellow leggings of the pigeons are very ....yellow

Your photos are getting better and better! (I know that I said that before, but there
is always room for more as I know myself ) Even in dull light you manage really good shots,
(talking about the last trip) but with a bit of sunshine the colours seem to explode

Do you actually do something with your yearly captures? Like a photo book or calendars?

More wonderful sightings.

It's amazing when you drive slowly how many other things one can find. It's not always about the big five

Totally right - That is also the reason why we are always need hours for a relatively short distance

It was such a wonderful start into our Kruger trip with that sighting

The birds indeed showed themselves quite plentiful in the beginning

Egyptian goslings were plentiful, also for me

That yellow leggings are indeed very stylish and we never can pass those weavers when they are around building nests

Gladly we had far more sunshine over many days during this trip - The rain set in later but only for hours and the sun came out again so the light was often more than great -We always make a calendar with some shots which we give away to family, friends and colleagues as Christmas present - They are always totally curious what we put together in the next calendar

It was such a wonderful sighting and we were over the moon with all these poses we were allowed to photograph and moreover we were the only car the whole time we spend with them.





He so much wanted to suck but was already far too large to fit under mom’s belly



so he laid down and now it worked more than fine – He got his drink from the milk bar and mom could graze on.



What a more than fantastic start into our first full day in the park.



In the distance close to one of a larger boulder Timon spotted something feathered which turned out to be another martial eagle



and then it was already time for a short break at Afsaal picnic spot but we did not stay that long and after a yummy coffee we carried on but it was a bit quiet until we reached the S23 where we drove along the Biyamiti river which still carried water and where we came across a large group of giraffes



in the very green riverbed.

Whilst observing the giraffes it did not take long until also the first elephants arrived after taking the obligatory midday splash.



After they disappeared we focussed again onto the giraffes



and two of them started a fight.



We carried on and stopped for more white-winged widowbirds,



more giraffes



as well as more and plentiful weavers collecting their nesting material





and also lot of redbilled queleas landed close by in the high grass and started to feed on the seeds.
