EXPRESSION OF INTEREST IN A SANPARKS BLACK RHINO DONATION
Background: SANParks retrieved a Black Rhino bull in January 2019. Upon an
examination it was established and confirmed that the retina of both eyes of this animal
were compromised. This animal was clinically diagnosed as permanently blind.
Key Conditions: This Expression of Interest is applicable for the donation of this blind
Black Rhino bull. The application for the donation is specific for the purpose of animal’s
welfare towards the protection of the species.

SANParks has publicly advertised for Expressions of Interest from third parties to show
interest in becoming a donation recipient for the blind Black Rhino (Diceros bicornis
bicornis) from SANParks boma to veld;
