I understand the paperwork you need to do to enter, but at least make it standard across the board! Lake Panic was full but at least there was something to see!

Nice pics of the Hippos -I dont remember ever actually seeing any out the water at lake panic when we have been there

I think this was our first time to see hippos out the water at Lake Panic.

A very wise decision to cover the distance within the park instead on the outside

The markings on these two giraffe were quite different - the paler one had smooth edges to its spots, while the darker one had jagged edges. Very interesting.

Kumana and Mazithi dams were both quiet. About 2kms before the Sweni Road we saw some buffalo up ahead. As we got closer we saw that they were chasing lions!! There were 4 lions watching the buffs and every now and then a couple of the buffs would approach the lions and scare them off. The lions eventually moved a respectable distance away and the buffs went back to eating.

The giraffes really look different from each other, but I think that there is only one sub-species in Kruger

We had already filled in the entrance form so went straight to the boom, as we've done before, but were told we had to go to the office first....why can't they have a standard procedure? Anyway, check in was quick and we were soon in the park, with the Brat behind the wheel.

This procedure has been in place for as long as I remember.
Fill in the form, go into the office where they print off the entrance permit, and then present that at the boom where you are allowed in.

Ja, it was a long drive, but we still got to Satara in time to check in and take an afternoon drive. The grass was sooo long!!

There is only 1 subspecies of Giraffe in Kruger.
They get darker as they get older. So the very dark ones are very old animals.

Oh, Ok. I have always parked up and gone inside to do the paper work there.
