Don't the trade unions have funds for covering at least partly the economical loss of the workers? If that is not the case, what make them strike for such a small gain -O-

Wahahaha, Lis! =O:

Yes, the unions earn millions from members each month, and indeed are meant to cover striker losses, but it happens extremely rarely. A Western concept, I'm afraid. Normally they strike again demanding back-pay for days lost, which often works! 0-

This according to Glen Phillips, Managing Executive of the KNP.

A letter was supplied to the Herald which is currently being handed out to tourists.

In the letter, Phillips informed tourists and visitors to the park that: “Management is engaging with the employees too resolve the matter.”

A source within the KNP at the Letaba Camp informed the Herald that the fueling station is currently closed.

"Tourists are fuming, they cant refuel and it seems that the hut attendants are also on strike,” the source told the Herald.

Rumours are circulating that the strike is allegedly due to overtime that has not been paid to the employees.

Letaba Herald will keep you updated and are awaiting comment from Isaac Phaahla, spokesperson for the KNP.

Apparently they are striking due to non-payment for overtime. I would probably do the same if I wasn't paid!! O**
