The South African National Parks (SanParks) says it is concerned over its plants and animals after raw sewage started flowing into the park from a purification plant.

The fauna and flora of the prestigious Kruger National Park could be in jeopardy after rangers detected raw sewage flowing from a purification plant into a stream to the park.

“We have engaged our stakeholders which is the Mopani district and they have promised that they are going to work on it to sort out the problem,” says spokesperson Ike Phaala.

He says their officials have been in ongoing talks with municipal officials at the local river forum.

“We haven’t seen any impact on it. Our concern is that in the long term if its left unattended then it will have consequences for all living organisms and also for communities.”

My one friend works for a company that went to see a guy at skukuza and olifants camp last week to resolve some issues they have regarding sewer smells
