The Zambezi and Kavango had reached their peaks in April and their levels subsided since. At the Namibian gauging station close to the town of Kasane in Botswana, the level of the Chobe stood at 6.77 m on 23rd April 2020. On the 29th April, 7.14 m were registered and on the 30th April 7.18 m. On the 3rd May 7.22 m were reported. This is a significant increase, since according to the Namibian Hydrological Services, the Chobe stood at only 1.2 m on the 21st January this year.
