Apart from the yellow bill, the hornbills blend in so well with the dead trees!! Great pics again.

Re: Grietjie Private Reserve
I have no idea what happened yesterday. When I wanted to post the next installment of the mornings drive, I couldn't log in.
Well here are the rest from yesterday...
A busy Blue Waxbill looking for food...
A threesome of Egyptian Geese...
One of a few Vultures feeling for the early morning thermals...
Strangely, a well behaved Vervet...

Re: Grietjie Private Reserve
Ok, so this morning I spent another four hours driving the roads of Grietjie. This felt more like a summer day, with the Cicada concert starting well before 08h00.
First up, a Natal "Sharks" Spurfowl already keeping to the shade...
This Waterbuck looks like it melted one horn at a rough braai...
A Brown Snake Eagle keeping watch...
And, the colouful Lilac Breasted Roller...
More to come, if I can still log in...

Re: Grietjie Private Reserve
The rest from this morning...
This Kudu seemed interested in either me or the vehicle...
The temperature was climbing by now, even this Bee-eater was trying to cool down...
On the opposite bank of the Olifants, a Crocodile on it's nest...
This Waterbuck was also keeping out of the sun, so I thought it a good time to head for home...
I'll probably try and take another drive tomorrow morning...
