Ndumo - Land Invasion

Post by Dzombo »

02/02/2012

I was reading a recent article on land invasion of Ndumo Game Reserve.
Has this issue been resolved?
Or are the squatters still on the land?

Hiya Dzombo

Hope that you will enjoy the AW Forum as much as we do.

Herewith the latest news that I was able to find:

http://www.iol.co.za/news/south-africa/ ... -1.1098604 (in the process of re-erection of the fence)

and here confirmation that the Eastern fence was restored:

http://www.sundaytribune.co.za/game-res ... -1.1167034

I have written to Ndumo, asking them for an update. Hope to have an answer soon.

Further to my post above, see http://ndumoreserve.blogspot.com/ - the hotline message.

Obviously I am unable to vouch for the authenticity of this message on the blog. Therefore better to wait for an answer straight from the horse's mouth.

So, it seems from the various sources that the fence was put up, and has been torn down again.

Seemingly so, Dzombo. But again, official confirmation awaited.

Nope, sorry to say, they've ignored my request for more information.

This is sad to read.
We were there earlier this year and the fence seemed to be up and everything ok.

Ndumo is a special place.
