Re: Rhino Poaching 2013
No worries BC and RP.
It just sometimes gets to be a bit much.

Keep getting in a lot of other reports too and seeing all the crap coming past that people do keeps sitting in the head and with everything else going on at the moment it is just the proverbial last drop.
Eish!
Wonder sometimes why I keep doing this too myself.

Another 6 rhino in 4 days in KZN and information only released reluctantly! 3 on the Western shores, a black rhino bull at Charters Creek and another at Weenen and Msuluzi. Not to sure about what was already part of the tally and what is new but its just unacceptable!

Seven rhinos poached in two weeks
20 May 2013 at 08:42
It's another devastating blow to the fight against rhino poaching.
Wildlife officials in KZN are investigating how poachers have managed to kill seven rhinos in the province over the past two weeks. Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife says they only became aware of the losses this weekend.
Four of the animals were killed on the Western Shores, which is part of the iSimangaliso Wetland Park. Another carcass was discovered on a private reserve at Weenen in the KZN Midlands, while two were killed in a community reserve near Colenso.
Ezemvelo's Musa Mntambo says they are shocked at the security breaches which have come after a relatively long period of calm.
"First is to check as to what happened and then we can take it from there. But we will continuing implementing our strategy to protect the rhinos.
"For the past three months or so, we only lost one rhino and then all of a sudden we discover that we've lost seven, so it is disheartening," he said.
